These strategies can help identify unnecessary medications, reduce the risk of drug interactions, and improve medication adherence.
Understanding the complexities of polypharmacy and potential drug interactions is critical in modern healthcare. As healthcare professionals, we must be vigilant in our prescribing practices, ensuring that the benefits of medication use outweigh the potential risks. Continued research and education in this area, coupled with the application of effective risk mitigation strategies, will enhance patient safety and quality of care.
