Cushing's disease, caused by an overproduction of ACTH, results in excessive cortisol levels, leading to weight gain, hypertension, and osteoporosis. Both conditions require careful management to mitigate symptoms and prevent long-term complications.
Acromegaly, caused by excessive growth hormone, often results in enlarged hands and feet, facial changes, and joint pain. It is typically managed with surgery, medication, or radiation therapy.
Pituitary disorders, while diverse, share a common thread - hormonal imbalance. A deep understanding of these conditions, their symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options allows healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
