Emphasis is placed on recent advances, emerging therapies, and updated guideline recommendations that inform clinical decision-making and optimize patient-centered outcomes in everyday practice.

Introduction

General physicians, often referred to as primary care physicians or general practitioners (GPs), have a unique position within the healthcare continuum, providing first-contact, continuous, and comprehensive care for patients across all age groups. Their clinical acumen significantly influences patient trajectories, especially in the context of chronic disease management, preventive medicine, and early diagnosis. As the healthcare landscape evolves, GPs are increasingly required to integrate evidence-based medicine, leverage technological advancements, and navigate complex patient needs, all while addressing the growing burden of multimorbidity and healthcare disparities.

Epidemiology / Disease Burden

Point-of-care tests, laboratory investigations, and imaging modalities are used selectively to confirm diagnoses and monitor disease progression. The advent of electronic health records and clinical decision support systems has enhanced diagnostic efficiency and patient safety. Treatment & Management
