Thyroid nodules are common and often benign, but they can sometimes be malignant. Thyroid cancer, although relatively rare, requires prompt diagnosis and treatment. Surgical removal, radioactive iodine therapy, or thyroid hormone suppression therapy are the mainstays of treatment.
