Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a complex and progressive disease characterized by high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries. The condition can lead to right heart failure if not promptly diagnosed and treated. Specific therapies may involve endothelin receptor antagonists, phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors, or prostacyclin analogs. In severe cases, lung transplantation may be considered.
PH is a severe and progressive disease that requires a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach for effective management. Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are critical to improve patient outcomes. As healthcare professionals, it is vital to maintain a high level of suspicion and be aware of the latest diagnostic tools and treatment options to provide the best care for patients with PH.
