Traditional approaches to SUD management have focused primarily on individual-based interventions, such as pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. However, emerging evidence underscores the critical role of social and environmental factors in sustaining recovery. Social recovery ecosystems—a term denoting interconnected community networks, peer support, and institutional partnerships—are gaining recognition as essential components in promoting substance-free communities.
