Emphasis is placed on integrating evidence-based interventions that enhance patient outcomes, reduce morbidity, and promote individualized care in both obstetric and gynecological domains.

The landscape of obstetrics and gynecology has undergone significant transformation, driven by technological innovations, improved understanding of disease mechanisms, and evolving patient expectations. The specialty encompasses a broad spectrum ranging from antenatal care and labor management to gynecologic oncology and reproductive endocrinology. This article aims to provide a comprehensive update on recent advances, integrating clinical relevance and mechanistic insights to support informed decision-making by healthcare professionals.

Epidemiology / Disease Burden

Maternal and reproductive health conditions remain major contributors to global disease burden. In gynecology, minimally invasive approaches such as laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgeries have reduced perioperative morbidity. Hormonal therapies, immunomodulators, and fertility-preserving interventions are increasingly utilized in the management of endometriosis, fibroids, and reproductive disorders.

Recent Advances / Emerging Therapies

Landmark advances include the clinical integration of preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) in assisted reproduction, expanding the scope for preventing heritable diseases.
